- DISCIPLESHIP
Dictionary Meaning 1) noun...the position of a disciple. 2) verb...the process of making someone like someone else. Breakdown (Disciple + Ship) 1) Disciple = A scholar (student); a learner (to gain knowledge of or skill in through study, instruction, or experience); a person who receives (is given) instruction (detailed direction about how to do something) from another (someone other than self); One who embraces (to hold close to usually as an expression of affection; to adopt as one's own) and assists (to give help/support to) in spreading the teachings (act/practices) of another; A follower (one who accepts the guidance, command, leadership of another with strong interest and close attention) of the doctrine (a body of standards, morals, virtues, ideal, belief, law, teachings presented for acceptance or belief) of a teacher (one who educates, guides, advises, trains, coaches). 2) Ship = A vessel (a vehicle designed for movement) of considerable (large; significant) size for water (a clear, colorless, odorless and tasteless liquid essential for most living organisms) navigation (traveling, charting of a course); to cause to be transported (to send out); when added (connected) to a word it changes (makes different, transforms) it to a noun (person, place or thing), if the word is already noun the root (base, origin) word now takes on a different (something other than what currently is) meaning (definition, interpretation) denotating (indicating, implying) the state/condition (the manner of how something is in regards to its' determining factors) of being (the totality of existence), the position (location, placement) status (position relative to others) or duties (required action, responsibilities, obligation) of something. I figure these two words are combined because the body of Christ's Disciples are to be looked at like ships sent out by the Lord with the intent to sail across the sea of mankind righteously connecting themselves to the people with the single purpose of making a holy difference in their lives by delivering unto them the precious cargo that they carry which we are to understand is the word of the truth, the Gospel of Jesus the Christ/the Word of God. *Standard dictionary used* Make it all make sense...Biblical Context Discipleship in its' active state is when the students who are willingly walking with Christ submit themselves whole heartedly to his guidance, his leadership, being certain to pay close attention to the knowledge he is imparting upon them through his detailed teachings and daily living practices of his standards, morals, values and ideologies. When the students of Christ have come into a level of learning that not only embraces the knowledge in which they were taught but adopts the belief system of Christ as their own in the totality of their existence, then has a level of learning been achieved where the student's education and lifestyle have allowed for a progression into the divine movement for the Disciples of Christ. Having achieved this goal, the Disciples being filled with the Holy Spirit have now been given the responsibility by the Lord Jehovah to go out into the world and coexist, being certain to speak, teach and replicate all that Christ has taught when they were most studious in the learning phase of discipleship (not that we ever stop learning, as our level of learning continuously matures as we grow in Christ daily). In summary, Discipleship is living a life in obligation to the Kingdom of Heaven that through the presence of Christ's Disciples all human beings are presented with the opportunity to be changed at their root (meaning heart), that who they are in the totality of their existence is transformed and enhanced in God, that they too become Disciples of Christ, choosing to live life according to his beliefs and in the spirit of Discipleship. (For a biblical understanding of the characteristics of a Disciple and the movement of Discipleship read the New Testament. The gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) talks about Jesus and the 12 Disciples from the choosing, the teaching/learning to the ultimate command of labor. The book of Acts to Revelation defines the movement of Discipleship in respect to showing how the Disciples took what they learned from Jesus and after his death and resurrection being filled with the Holy Spirit journeyed across the land teaching and being a reflection of holiness according to the life and ministry of Jesus. DISCIPLESHIP = A CONSISTENT PERPETUATION OF CHRIST LIKE REPLICATION

- GRATITUDE TO GOD FOR MY 5 SENSES
This week I will give gratitude to God for the ability to... 1) See the beauty of his presence all around. What does his beauty look like? The beauty of God comes in many forms, it's in the shine of the sun, the glow of the moon, the twinkle of the stars, the breeze of air, the clouds and the sky, the colorful array of flowers, the people all around different yet the same in his eyes. Blessed be the name of Jehovah for the ability to see the vast richness he has created in all the earth. The glorious reflection of the Kingdom of Heaven is all around us here on earth. Genesis 1:31...And God saw everything that he had made, and behold it was very good. Psalms 50: 2...Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shined. This week I will give gratitude to God for the ability to... 2) Hear the sweetness of his voice all around me. What is that I am hearing? I am hearing the divine sound of comfort. Blessed be the soothing voice of God that speaks peace to my pain, suffering and sorrows. I am so grateful to the Most High whose voice of holiness is powerful enough to speak rebuke to the voices of the enemy that seek to turn me away from his word and his desires for my life. Thank you God for your multifaceted voice, I am so blessed to hear the holiness of every word you speak over and in my life. Psalms 29:4...The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty (splendor). Ezekiel 42:2...And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east; and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. This week I will give gratitude to God for the ability to... 3) Feel the glory of his presence in my life. What does the presence of God's glory feel like? I, myself feel like the goodness of God created in the wonderful image of all that is holy within him, unfiltered, raw, natural in the essence of who I am when I was just a thought in his mind. I am the manifestation of Jehovah's beauty and in his eye I am without a doubt a vision of glory for him to look upon. God thank you for not only allowing me to feel the beauty of your wonderful Kingdom flow through the depths of my flesh and soul daily, but I thank you the most for allowing me the opportunity to feel the presence of your love deep within the fabric of my heart. Jeremiah 20:9...But his (God's) word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones. Psalms 16: 11...In your (God) presence is the fulness of joy, and at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore. This week I will give gratitude to God for the ability to... 4) Taste the delightful fruits of your most awesome Spirit and Heavenly Kingdom arranged at the table you set before me to feast upon. God what are the fruits I am tasting? I am tasting the delectable sweetness of your unconditional, everlasting and almighty heart that chooses to love me in spite of all that I may say or do. In the midst of my praise and worship it is the pleasurable warmth of your joy I am tasting as the depths of your most blessed Kingdom fill with the sound of my glorious reverence. I am tasting the refreshing coolness of peace that dwells deep within your soul when you happily watch me living out the days of my life in the righteousness of your Holy Word. When my flesh and soul are at an imbalance with your throne of divinity it is the pungent bitter sensation of your longsuffering (patience) I am tasting, yet is it the robust freshness of your gentleness that cools my palate when your throne chooses to show me compassion instead of rebuke when I am falling weak to the sins of the flesh. Saturated in the truth of your word, Lord God it is the spice and fire of your faith that I am tasting in the depths of my soul as you move me about this earth partaking in the works of discipleship, pouring out your righteousness and uplifting all human beings in the light of your Heavenly Kingdom that lives purely within me. God so many times I have given you reason to bring destruction upon me but as you subdue the urge to bring the sting of death upon my soul it is the tartness of your temperance (self-control) that I am tasting, and for your saving grace I am most grateful. Daily you are a good God and as I am blessed with the opportunity to live each day in the goodness of who you are, my God it is the savory seasoning of your meekness that I taste as you humbly sit upon your throne having total control over all I say and do to forever spread you most worthy name across all the lands. Psalms 34:8...Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that trusts in him. Hebrews 6:4-5...For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost and have tasted the good word of God. Psalms 119:103...How sweet are your words unto my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth. This week I will give gratitude to God for the ability to... 5) To breathe in the gratifying, most pleasing, desirable fragrance of his awesomeness, his wonderfulness, the fullness of who he is as the Almighty Creator of Heaven and earth. Some light a candle, some spray perfumes and some use artificial enhancements, but God I am most grateful for the divine ability to smell the beauty of your glory above the wicked stench of satan when he seeks to congest me with his pollutants of hell. 2 Corinthians 2:15...For we are unto God a sweet savour (aroma) of Christ. Additional Bible scriptures of reference... Psalms 115: 1-7 talks about the glory of God, it points out the 5 senses and how those who stand opposite to God cannot through their senses intake the delightful and most delectable goodness of God's glory, and we know that the glory of God is indeed most pleasing because his word from beginning to end tells us so. The book of the Song of Solomon in its spiritual context can be seen as a love letter between God and his soulmate. We know that the Bible is both literal and figurative, meaning that understanding the word of God is two sided. Yes the Song of Solomon is about human love, but if we study this book a little deeper we can understand that the King is a representation of the Lord Jehovah and the woman is a representation of mankind, love in its' purest form between the Kingdom of Heaven and his creation. The book of the Song of Solomon is an exemplary display of how the beauty of untainted love feels/effects all of who we are through our 5 senses. This week I will give gratitude to God for being a great God who gives me the ability to see, smell, taste and feel the splendidness of his most blessed Kingdom of Heaven all around me. To God be the glory forever and ever, in Jesus name Amen.
- SO MANY TIMES I'VE PRAYED TO GOD TO CHANGE MY LIFE...
QUESTION So many times I've prayed to God to change my life. I do good for a while then bam, I look up and find myself back doing the very things I prayed hard for God to bring me out of. I feel so bad for flip flopping but obviously not bad enough to stop me from sinning against God. How do I make a permanent change and fully commit myself to God? ANSWER Let's break it down into parts and address it that way. Q...So many times I've prayed to God to change my life. A...Keep praying, never stop praying. Praying makes us stronger, it is through the act of prayer that we open the door for God to come in and provide an answer to that which we ask of him. Instead of identifying the problem to Christ, maybe try changing the way in which you pray and start asking for a permeant solution. Making known our sins to Christ is good don't get me wrong, but at some point our prayers need to be not about confessing as God knows all, but more about Lord through your Holy Spirit guide me to a righteous solution for the transgressions I have confessed to you. Do you see the difference? Confession tells God there is a problem, but what good is knowing the problem and not having a resolve. The asking of a resolution is what brings about the change. God show me how is a powerful statement of submission to the Throne of the Almighty. So, the next time you pray yes confess your transgressions, but don't stop there. Go a step further and ask for God to allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into a holy resolution, and then take your prayer a step further and ask for clarity to see the help that God provides and the will to do as he instructs. Q...I do good for a while then bam, I look up and find myself back doing the very things I prayed hard for God to bring me out of. A...This is not an uncommon issue. For most Christians, yes even born again Christians such as myself this is an ongoing issue to be addressed. I remember the day I prayed to give myself fully to Christ, I had no idea just what that prayer entailed. I was not prepared for the uphill battle between my flesh and spirit, seriously. I flipped flopped, fell back into temptation, bumped my head and so much more all while growing in Christ. What I learned in the midst of my trails and tribulations of building a deeper relationship with the Kingdom of Heaven is that every time I would fall back into my old ways I would learn something new that made me stronger for the next go around with satan. Yes I said go around, you see just because we are walking with Christ doesn't make us exempt to the presence of satan, in fact it makes us even more prone to having to deal with him more frequently. Think about it. Why would satan go after those who are partaking in his way of living, he has no need. satan's focus is to kill, steal and destroy those who seek after the Kingdom of Heaven, and this brings me to my next point, if we can identify who it is and what it is we are dealing with then we can move accordingly. This is a technique I found to be most helpful when it comes to rebuking the temptation of sin. You see satan deals in the flesh and the Lord in the spirit, so if my flesh falls weak then this tells me that which is causing the desires of my flesh to turn against God must be that which is opposite of God. You see pleasure is the Devil's playground, I'm not saying not to enjoy your life, God's word tells us to eat, drink and be merry, however his word also tells us to do this in moderation and in decency. God clearly lays out the plan for living a happy life in him, we have the story of Adam and Eve, the 12 commandments, the life of Christ, the distinction between the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the devil, and much more. So if we can structure our everyday living to measure that which we do by the standards of God's word than I think resisting temptation when it approaches will be a little bit easier each and every time. I call this living in truth (living with open eyes to see the truth that is presented and making justified decisions according to the Throne of Heaven). And yes I purposely small cased satan's name, to me this diminishes his significance and gives him a low-ranking stature in my life. Q...I feel so bad for flip flopping A...Proverbs 24:16...for a just man falls 7 times. This right here tells me God knows we as human beings are going to fall into sin at some point in time, it's not if but when we fall. This is not an excuse to sin but a notion of truth telling, you see sometimes falling into sin is inevitable no matter how hard we try, and we shouldn't condemn ourselves for having a weak moment (involuntary of course). Yes, we should feel bad for sinning against God, if we didn't then we wouldn't be children of the Kingdom of Heaven, only demons feel nothing for their wayward behavior towards the Almighty Jehovah. If we are indeed born of God than that condemnation we feel is exact, however we can't live in it. The condemnation is not to make us feel shame, no not all, the condemnation is to make us feel the hurt that God feels when his heart is broken by our undesirable actions toward him. So how do we stop flip flopping? For me it is a consistent choice to stay away from the very things that cause me to go against God, I like to call this intentional living. It is the desire not to hurt the God that has been so good to me and in cases where I fall into the snares of the devil, I pray for God to make me stronger in that area so that next time (and yes there will be a next time) I am tempted by satan I am strong and wise enough in the Spirit and knowledge of God to resist. Be advised this is continual growth, what's the saying new level new devils, well it is indeed just that and we as Christians must be diligent in our living, never let your guard down in thinking you are strong enough to maneuver through this life without the presence and authority of the Lord Jehovah. What really helps me to make better choices in the moment of decision making (righteousness vs. sinning) is praying to God and asking to feel what he feels as God the Father. Asking God to fill me with his emotions when he looks down upon me from his throne and to give me a better understanding of his heart. When God answered this prayer for me it, it gave me a better perspective and made my choosing a little easier because now I don't want to do anything that purposely hurts God. Now I am not saying I live a perfect life, no not by far, however the majority of the sins I use to do I don't do anymore. Making life all about God makes it so much easier to live a life pleasing to God and a happier living experience for me. Q...But obviously not bad enough to stop me from sinning against God. A...I don't think this is the case, remember we war not against the flesh and blood but against principalities, so in this case I don't think your sinning against God is willingly I think it's more of your flesh is weak and the battle your fighting is not being fought in the spirit. Once you learn how to fight the spirits of temptation according to the word of God you will begin to feel your desire to do the things that go against the Kingdom of Heaven dwindle and your desire to partake in the acts of sin lessen and lessen. Now I'm not saying that you won't sin, I'm saying the possibility of you rebuking the temptations of the devil will become stronger and stronger as you change your technique of fighting the principalities of the spirit realm from that of the flesh to that of the Spirit of God. Remember I previously stated we must obtain an understanding of who and what is motivating us to do what goes against God. Keeping this thought in the fore front of our minds as we live daily is a helpful tool. You do feel bad, that was your statement right before this one, it's just your flesh falls weak to the pleasure of sin that satan has assigned to you, but the good news is now that your eyes have been open and your weakness has been exposed you can now go to God in truth of spirit and seek his help. Q...How do I make a permanent change and fully commit myself to God? A...To answer this I am going to refer to Romans 6:4...Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. To answer your question by the truth of this verse, to fully commit yourself to God, begins with the first step of being baptized (washed and renewed by the water), then repentance of your sins (asking for forgiveness and then permanently turning away from the sin you seek forgiveness for) and finally accepting Jesus the Christ as your Lord Savior (self explanatory) that the old you may be buried unto death with him on the cross, and by the divine resurrection through the glory of God you are anointed with the newness of life God has chosen you to live all the days of your life. Once God has given you an understanding of the truth of sinful living leave it alone and move forward into the greater in him. Choose to live life by the wisdom of God. Live with intention, purpose and the desire to not only to please our Lord Jehovah but to do his will, and in doing this the gradual steps you take towards a divine way of living will ultimately lead you to the goal of righteous change permanently. ***Read the Bible, internalize it and then apply it. Change comes from knowing the truth and knowing the truth comes from seeking Godly wisdom and knowledge and Godliness comes from studying the word of God and living it daily.***
- PEACE BE STILL
Psalm 104:34...My meditation of him (Jehovah/God) will be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord. 1) Find a quiet sanctuary of seclusion, a place designated as a meeting space for you and the Lord Jehovah. Entering into this quite place there should be no electronics, no other presence, no outside distractions as God's presence and voice should have priority over all in this consecrated space. This is a moment of Spirit and self-concentration. 2) Now that you are alone in your moment of divine concentration sit upright (this is a position of intentional focus), place your hands on your thighs palms down (the placement of hands is a motion of self-control, bringing the flesh into submission). 3) Find a point of concentration (intentional focus) then exhale (release of self) and inhale (receiving the Spirit's presence) deeply 3x's (1=Jehovah/Father, 2=Christ/Son, 3=Holy Spirit; the holy trinity; completeness) 4) After your last set of breathes, close your eyes (convert from self-concentration to spirit focus), turn your hands outward palms facing up (open hands to God is a position of divine receiving), begin counting down from 10 to 1(counting allows for the shifting from self to spirit). 5) Now, as you sit in total submission to God be patient as you mind will begin to flurry with thoughts, voices and the dealings of your life. Remain in a state of peace as this is the process of spiritual cleaning, eventually the worldly thoughts will subside and the voice of the Lord will become clearer and clearer. Note the voice of the lord comes in all fashions, a song, a scripture, a remembrance, a wave of emotions, part of a sermon and so forth. It may not always be the sound of his actual voice. (There is no time limit, the Spirit of God will lead you through the process). 6) Once the Holy Spirit has brought you into a release of mediation, remain in your position, place your hands over your face (a veil/covering) and speak the prayer dwelling in your heart. This prayer may be as simple as an Alleluia, could be a conversation with God, or maybe in the form of an actual prayer, however the feeling let it flow out of you in the pureness of truth. This moment of speaking is an open door for the word of God to be released from the spirit realm into the flesh where it can take root to manifestation. 7) After completing your prayer, remain where you are for just a few more minutes then open your eyes, place your hands palms down on your thighs, inhale and exhale 3x's, and when your flesh and spirit are ready you can seal your moment of meditation with an Amen in Jesus name then go on about your day/evening in the tranquility of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 104:34...My meditation of him (Jehovah/God) will be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord.
